The African Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO) is the continental intergovernmental organisation established by the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) in 1977. Its mandate is to develop, harmonise and coordinate standards across African Member States to facilitate intra-Africa trade and promote sustainable development.
